PPF Nesting: Arrange Templates on Film

Nesting arranges selected PPF patterns across the available film width before cutting. A better layout can reduce waste, but results depend on the job and roll dimensions.

Select the panels for a job

First identify the correct templates and check their size and orientation. Then prepare a shared layout. Multiple panels in one job give the nesting process more options for efficient placement.

Set the film dimensions

Enter the actual film width and the spacing required for safe cutting. Nesting does not replace a fit check: verify margins, material direction and room to feed the film through the plotter.

Review before you cut

Compare the suggested layout length with the film available. Move or split panels when necessary. No fixed savings percentage is guaranteed; it varies with panel shape, roll width and margins.

Will nesting always save the same amount of film?

No. The result depends on shapes, number of panels, film width and spacing. Compare layouts before cutting.

Can patterns be adjusted before nesting?

LionCut includes vector editing. Verify changes before placing panels on the film.
